ANGUS CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2018

  • By either submitting a consent form, allowing your child to attend class, attending a class yourself, being within ACPA premises or premises within which ACPA operates, you hereby agree to the below terms and conditions and accept that you will follow the ACPA code of conduct and any other supporting policies in place.

  • Invoices will be sent out on the last week of the previous term. A written reminder for fees not paid after the third week of term will incur a £5 administration charge and late payments will incur a 10% surcharge. These charges will also be applied when a monthly payment is missed for those on standing orders. Should there be any difficulty in payment of fees, do not hesitate to contact us so that an arrangement can be made.

  • No refunds will be given for missed classes. Should ACPA have to cancel or adjust a class, every effort will be made to arrange an alternative, or a refund/credit will be given.

  • Should any student wish to discontinue any class or leave the school, one full terms notice must be given, otherwise the next term’s fees will be payable also. Transfer to a different class is subject to availability. Simply failing to attend class is not regarded as cancellation of enrolment and fees will still be charged until full notice is received.

  • Where fees remain unpaid, ACPA reserve the right to suspend a student from classes, or in severe cases, to pass your details on to our debt collection agency. Students receiving discount may lose this in cases of continual late payment.

  • Students should attend all classes where possible and should be prepared to start at the correct time. Any student who is late may be asked to sit out for their own safety if they have missed the warm up.

  • Uniform is compulsory in all classes. Long hair should be tied up in a bun or ponytail and all jewellery should be removed. Any student who is dressed unsuitably will be asked to sit out. Please do not wear any dance shoes outside of the studio, or any outdoor shoes inside the studio. See our website for full uniform requirements or ask one of our faculty for more information.

  • Students will not be permitted to leave the studio alone unless consent has been given overleaf. ACPA are only responsible for children inside the studio during their class time. Children should not be left before or after class in the changing rooms or waiting area unsupervised unless they are deemed able to fully look after themselves.

  • Please ensure that your child goes to the toilet before class and do not send your child in with food or sweets unless permitted by the teacher e.g. for holiday camp lunchtimes. Students should bring a bottle of water only.

  • In some classes students will work towards bbodance or UKA examinations. Students will only be entered once they have achieved the required standard and have shown the correct level of attendance/commitment. Examinations may occur during school term and students may be required to get leave from school. ACPA will endeavour to keep this type of activity to a minimum. Students participating in exams will be required to attend extra classes during the few weeks before.

  • All classes and rehearsals must be attended in the run up to performances or exams in order for participation to be permitted. Should attendance become below the acceptable standard on such occasions, ACPA reserve the right to withdraw a student from the event at any time.

  • Parents are not permitted into the studio to watch during class times, however access to reception and The Dance Store is available at any time. It is requested that parents/guardians respect the decisions of faculty members and request to speak to someone should an issue arise. Student safety and well being is always of utmost importance to ACPA.

  • Attendance at a similar dance or theatre school should be disclosed to the principal upon registration to ensure there will be no conflict in teaching. Attendance to a particular class may be denied if the principal believes this could cause difficulties with other schools already attended.

  • It is essential for the efficient and safe teaching of dance for a degree of physical contact to take place. This is to help prevent injury caused by faulty technique and poor posture. This will be done in a professional manner and the intention of contact will be made clear. Should you have a problem with this policy please contact ACPA prior to class enrolment.

  • All medical conditions or additional learning support requirements must be disclosed upon enrolment to allow us to provide the required support.

  • It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that ACPA have up to date addresses and contact information, and to keep ACPA informed of any changes to health. The preferred method of communication at ACPA is email. It is therefore essential that a current email address is always provided. Emergency contact information must always be updated also.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for regularly checking their emails, the notice board or facebook in order to be fully aware of all upcoming events. On the rare occasion that ACPA need to change the venue or time of a class, we will do our best to notify parents/guardians by email, facebook page, phone or word of mouth.

  • Parents/guardians are asked to consider local residents at all times when arriving or departing from the studio. Bringing a car onto Terrace Road should be avoided unless completely necessary as the street is very narrow with limited parking. Vehicles must not be parked over driveways or on the verge to the left of the studio as this is private property. Too many vehicles also prevent emergency access to the road. There are various car parks along the high street within a 5 minute walk from the studio.
