Modern & Jazz

Jazz and Modern is a dynamic genre that covers a variety of styles. It encompasses technical styles adopted from choreographers such as Bob Fosse and Matt Mattox and also broader styles such as commercial(what you usually see in music videos or concerts) and broadway/theatre jazz(think the West End and Broadway). Our Jazz/Modern training is challenging but rewarding. It helps to build on strength, control, flexibility and stylistic interpretation, and provides our dancers with a strong technical background. Larger than life leaps, kicks and turns are just some of the technical skills you will learn. We use BBOdance syllabus, Radar Technique and freework to help the growth of technique. Jazz and Modern encourage students to develop a sense of individuality whilst also learning about the diverse range of styles encompassed in this genre.
