Fiona has over 30 years of teaching experience behind her. She initially trained and taught in Edinburgh, and in 1995 relocated to Carnoustie where she set up the Fiona Forbes School of Dance, now known as Angus Centre for Performing Arts. Fiona has teaching qualifications with bbodance (Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre), UKA (Highland), Progressing Ballet Technique and Acrobatic Arts. She also has her Dance Teacher in the Life Long Learning Sector to allow her to teach within further education, and currently teaches Higher Dance at Carnoustie High School. Fiona feels that no matter how long you have been teaching, you can continue to learn, and is always keen to take part in continuous development.
Fiona has examined throughout the UK and Europe for bbodance. She is the regional Rep for bbodance in Scotland and coordinates their Edinburgh Scholarship Scheme. She also teaches Higher Dance at Carnoustie High School. Fiona is not only passionate about ensuring her students receive the best training possible to become the best dancers they can, but she also aims to provide them with as many transferable skills that will help carry them through whatever life may have ahead.
